Role of TAFE Open Campus

Education is an important key in every field. In today's time many government agencies such as Technical and Further Education Commission in Australia provides professional education programs. These programs are small courses also known as TAFE courses that equip right skills in the right field. Some of these courses last for only a few hours and some for a number of months. Anyone can enhance their knowledge in the field of their interest.

Many of the reliable institutes provide online distance learning courses, especially for those who don’t have time but want to study and are far from the place. North Coast TAFE is one of them that has established the TAFE Open Campus for students interested in online study, e Learning and flexible/distance options where their needs may be served from one or several different campuses across North Coast.

North Coast TAFE - Campuses

NorthCoast TAFE consists of 17 campuses located across some of the most scenic and exciting parts of the country. All of the 17 campuses feature facilities that enable North Coast TAFE to deliver high quality vocational education and training each year. Some of the campuses are: 
 
Ballina Campus: Ballina TAFE Campus is a specialist centre for maritime and nursing programs as well as providing entry-level vocational education and training programs across areas such as general education, information technology, office administration and welfare.

Casino Campus: Situated near the river and opposite one of the town's many parks, Casino TAFE Campus is a specialist centre within North Coast TAFE for shopfitting, kitchen and detailed joinery. The campus also offers a range of general and specialist vocational education and training programs including building, engineering, general education, information technology, office administration, health and indigenous studies.

Coffs Harbour Campus: Located near the centre of town, Coffs Harbour TAFE Campus has an innovatively designed indoor carpentry and joinery centre. It is also one of two campuses within North Coast TAFE offering fashion design.

Grafton Campus: Grafton TAFE Campus is an integral part of the local community and attracts students from around the state to its music, hospitality, food studies, electrical and painting and decorating courses.

Great Lakes Campus: Great Lakes TAFE Campus specialises in fine arts, hospitality, information technology, administration services, business, general education and building and construction courses.

Kempsey Campus: Kempsey TAFE Campus is an important part of the local community providing vocational education and training across automotive, engineering, fine arts, ceramics, information technology, office administration, retail, welfare and general education study areas.

Kingscliff Campus: One of North Coast TAFE's newest campuses, Kingscliff TAFE Campus offers state-of-the-art vocational, education and training facilities in tourism, hospitality, graphic design, carpentry and joinery and information technology.

Lismore Campus: Lismore TAFE Campus is located in the centre of the city and specialises in business, hospitality, media and tourism courses. The campus is also renowned for the quality of its creative arts courses.

Macksville Campus: Macksville TAFE Campus specialises in providing the local community with vocationally orientated entry-level education and training across the study areas of business, community services and information technology.

Maclean Campus: Maclean TAFE Campus lies on the banks of the river beside Maclean High School - with whom it shares a joint library. The campus specialises in information technology, office administration and school-based (TVET) courses as well as programs of study for the local Aboriginal community.

Murwillumbah Campus: Murwillumbah TAFE Campus is handily located in the central business district and offers a range of TAFE courses including: community services, communication and media, arts, information technology, and automotive trades.

Port Macquarie Campus: Port Macquarie TAFE Campus specialises in massage therapy, hospitality, tourism, fashion design, graphic design and electrical and electronics courses.

Taree Campus: Taree TAFE Campus lies in extensive agricultural grounds beside the Manning River which enables it to specialise in agriculture, horticulture and horse management.

Wauchope Campus: Wauchope TAFE Campus is situated in the centre of town and has a state-of-the-art carpentry and joinery facility providing students with an all-weather area for completing practical projects.

Wollongbar Campus: A state-of-the-art education and training facility, Wollongbar TAFE Campus specialises in agriculture, horticulture, fashion and information technology courses including offering the costume design.

Courses offered North Coast TAFE

Technical and Further Education Commission courses or TAFE are training that students can attain for various qualifications that meet their requirements. The TAFE is the largest provider of training and practical education in Australia. Following are some of the North Coast TAFE Courses:

Commercial & Short Courses: North Coast TAFE offers a suite of commercially priced courses that start most weeks of the year and usually provide you with a quicker way of achieving your education needs and qualifications goals. There are no fee exemptions or concessions for these courses and all courses commence only when the minimum number of students have been enrolled.

Online Courses: Online courses can be accessed from home, in the workplace or at TAFE. This allows you to continue your education at a time, and in a way, that meets your needs. North Coast TAFE uses web-based materials designed to engage and stimulate the learner, not simply a collection of resources. Students are supported and guided in their learning by teachers with interaction by email, forums and chat groups. Students also have access to support services through their local campus.

Distance Learning Courses: Distance learning courses provide you with flexible so you can tailor your study to suit your needs.

Aboriginal Programs: Aboriginal students are supported to study successfully in all programs offered by North Coast TAFE. North Coast TAFE has a range of courses specifically for Aboriginal students.

Sustainability Courses: North Coast TAFE specialises in meeting the training needs of the industry and community. North Coast TAFE has different levels of qualification so it doesn’t matter if you’re an expert or a novice. North Coast TAFE offers courses across the areas of Business sustainability, Carbon accounting, Leadership and education for sustainability, Sustainable living and Sustainability in the build environment.

Courses for High School Students: TVET courses give Year 11 and 12 students the opportunity to study TAFE courses as part of their HSC.
